We plate gold, rhodium and black ruthenium over 925 sterling silver to the thickness you specify, recorded per batch. Where a piece must qualify as gold vermeil, we plate to the US FTC standard.
What we plate
Gold plating
Yellow or rose gold, 1–2.5 microns depending on request. Thickness recorded per batch.
Gold vermeil
2.5 microns or more of gold over 925 sterling silver — the US FTC definition of vermeil. Available on request.
Rhodium
Bright white rhodium over silver or gold, for shine and tarnish resistance.
Black ruthenium
A dark, hard finish for contrast and oxidised looks.
What “vermeil” actually means
Gold vermeil has a legal definition in the US: gold of at least 2.5 microns over sterling silver. Thinner gold over silver is gold-plated sterling, not vermeil. We state the metal, the base and the micron thickness on every quotation, so your listings stay compliant in every market you sell to.
